Fear the Reaper

Here are a bunch of pages from my sketch books over the summer. The first two pages are to show how I go through a character design at this point, usually use a page or two of just doodling and going through trial and error until I come to something that works well with the character. The character shown is a version of the Mad Hatter I was conjuring up. The next is a picture of movie monsters I was doing...and yes,the Joker made it on the page too. Lastly, two pages of doodling with a sharpie and blue pencil.

Please feel free to comment,thanks.

I'll update again tomorrow night.

See you next time, same bat time, same bat channel

summer splash

Hey there folks, here are some pages from different scetchbooks I filled over the summer. I'll add more pages throughout the week as time free's itself up. Let me know what you think. Arm anatomy,Jose Lopez mage scribble, power ranger villains,Ronald the homeless thumbwrestling champion, and a giant character I am growing to love more and more each time I draw em' .

2 months gone...

Today a quick update. Just a rough I was doing of a ninja turtle with a rounded brush. It is my first digital painting, and I am really just practicing with it to see how far I can go right now. I've no no lesssons or teachers in this media yet,so this is my first attempt. Let me know what you think. It is supposed to be a rough around the edges sort of style. Took about 15 minutes. As I said, give me some feedback yo!

Until next time kids

Through the looking glass...

While I won't go into heavy detail about the pages, I will say this are more recent. The black and white spider-man was done in about 20 minutes screwing around in photoshop. It is pure black and white, nothing else was used besides the brush tool.

As for the other pages, just things from my 3 current sketchbooks, the one in colour is one of my first pages done in water colour crayons. I hope to get some pencil crayons and paints soon and start experimenting with those. The rest are LITERAL pages from my sketch books. They are rough, gritty, and show exactly what a sketch book is for, experimenting and exploring.

I'll try and get some finished work up next week.

Until then,keep it real.

Learing curve...

I have always found that imitating someones drawing style is one thing, but learning from it is much more. I respect mr Stephen Silver, and two of the three pages I have uploaded are drawn from one of his books.

I have no intentions though of copying his style, but learning from it. All animators, and artists for that matter, spend their life striving to build their own style. The last image I have attached is of a giant I am working on. While the work is clearly unfinished, and unrefined, I think that picture in itself illustrates my style, and where it's at right now.

While right now it is very unrefined, and the page is from my sketch book,so it is a work in progress as well. My style is pretty much in a stage of evolution. It most definitely will be for the next few years, but I hope that at this point it shows some sort of footprint that it is,in itself,it's own style, and unlike anyone elses. If at any time I feel my style is mimicing or like turning into a copy of someone elses I look to new inspiration , or just straight up draw things from the back of my mind.

I will be updating again after the weekend, and posting some of my first water colour drawings.

Until then kids, keep it real

Anatomy of another kind...

While this has many issues I'd like to fix(such as the chest piece and the leveling of the arms, etc). I posted this because, plane and simple,I like the concept behind it.

Believe it or not, this all start from me doing anatomy studies of a femur. Yes,that long slender bone attached to your pelvis and fibia and tibia....yeah,that thing. Enough of the yackidy yack, onto the yamma jamma. This guy just evolved on the page as I drew it. To keep it simple, what I mean is I would draw one piece, and another would start forming from it. Behold the outcome.

As I said,I'd love to fix the proportions and level out a few things, but for now I'd just rather move on.

So while this is about 6 months old,it's the robot for now. I'll definitely post one in a few days. Something new.

Keep it real, and stay tuned kids, I'll definitely throw something new your way soon.

Old But Interesting...

Well, this was a little character I conceived one day while experimenting with combinations. I was exploring that imagination of mine, and decided to start mixing and matching animals, nature, and things of that like. This little guy is a combination of :a bat,a tree frog,a monkey, and a lemur.

As for the nature combinations I had a few interesting turn outs,I may post those once I get a few inked or line weighted properly.

Enter the Blog, said the green frog

Well, this is the first post,so it's going to be short and sweet. I have the weekend to post some art work, and drop more of an in depth introduction.

I'll edit my information later as well.

I'll definitely post a robot per week,I don't care how busy I get.

So keep an eye out
